Book Introduction
Do You Believe That Jesus Existed?
Yes: You know for a fact that Jesus was alive and was born from a Virgin
mother whose name was Mary. Jesus had a stepfather named Joseph, but
Joseph was not his real father, God was.
You know this story to be true, because why?
Where did you get this information from?
Has this information ever been validated?
If you're a Christian and you haven't done your research, then there's a
good chance that most of the information you've heard about the life of
Jesus, hasn't ever been validated.
Now, what if you answered this question with the infamous two letter
word, No.
No: There isn't enough evidence to support the existence of Jesus.
However, you've done a little more research than other Christians and
believe that there is a possibility.
Why would anyone in their right mind, talk about someone, who never
existed?
Why would we have so much information about Jesus, if he wasn't ever
alive?
These are both good points, but it really doesn't provide us with
anything but two different questions.
Do you realize that almost any Christian could provide you with a
description of Jesus and possibly even a photograph? Jesus had long hair
and a beard and believe it or not, he was a Caucasian.
If you were to ask most Christians about his personality, they could
even provide you with that. Jesus was a caring person who rarely got
frustrated.
If I asked you where Jesus was born, lived and what he even did for a
living, most Christians could probably provide me with that information,
also.
Where did Jesus die and was he actually crucified?
Was Jesus ever married and did he have any children?
Is Jesus God or the son of God?
Did Jesus create the universe with God or was Jesus created after God
created the universe?
I'm willing to bet that the person reading this book right now, can
answer these questions, but do you know for a fact, that you’re right?
Yes, no… maybe?
There is no way to answer these questions correctly, because we don't
have enough evidence, to support them. At least I haven't been exposed
to the evidence, if someone actually has it.
Trying to figure out whether someone existed 500 years ago would be
extremely difficult. Go back another thousand years and it would be even
harder.
According to religious scriptures, Jesus was born between 10 B.C.E and
10 C.E., but we don't have any documentation, to support these claims.
He lived about 2,000 years ago and it would practically be impossible,
to know for sure, whether or not he existed.
In this book, I will do the best I can, to point out all of the pros and
cons. Even though we can't answer this question for sure, we can examine
the information and make an educated guess.
We just don't have enough evidence, that could not be rationally
doubted.
