The Perfect Christmas Gift For Christians
By Greg Vanden Berge 12/21/2011
The other day I was thinking about something I could give to a
Christian. I've tried to give them plenty of advice and point out a few
obvious flaws about their religion, but this path hasn't been effective.
Some of these folks are the most hardheaded people you’ll ever meet.
Most of them aren't interested in reality and this usually creates a
problem, when trying to fit into a rational world.
So what should I get them?
I've tried to give them plenty of facts, asked them to produce an
invisible God and even offered to try a few, of their ideas. I've
desperately tried to provide them with the things they really need, but
they aren't interested.
Sure, I could give them a regular Christmas gift, like everyone else,
but somehow, I don't think an ordinary gift would be appreciated. So I
thought of something out of the ordinary, something that would be
appreciated and came up with this.
The perfect gift for a Christian would be an empty box. You can choose
to wrap the box up, put ribbons and bows on it or simply set the box
somewhere in your home and then proceed to step two.
Now step number two is important, so I hope I have your full and
undivided attention. This is where it gets a little tricky, but the
information I'm about to provide you with, came directly from the Book
of Matthew, in the New Testament, which is located inside, of the
Christian Holy Bible.
Feel free to check out, Matthew 7:7, if you’re having any doubts
about how God will provide you with more gifts, than you ever imagined.
Step number two will require you to, “Ask God to put something in the
box.”
That's it, whatever you want or desire, you will receive, but you need
to ask. You will need to ask God for something and then open the box, to
see if you've received it.
That's it, there really isn't much more to do. If you believe the Bible
is actually the written word of God or inspired by God, then you can't
lose.
Well maybe you can lose, maybe you won't get what you ask for, but
that's okay. Remember, you’re Christian and just because something is
written in the Bible, doesn't really mean you need to follow it.
This won't be the first time in your life, you've prayed or asked God
for something and didn't receive it. As a matter of fact, you have a
pretty good idea, it won't be your last, either.
However, if you do ask for something and then open up the empty box, to
find the object of your desires, then you should immediately ask for
something larger.
Ask God to eliminate worldwide hunger, cancer, AIDS, heart disease,
physical and mental abuse, depletion of natural resources and it
wouldn't be a bad idea to ask God to eliminate, all forms of pollution.
Now… there won't be any need to brag about your accomplishments, because
everyone on the planet, will know about them. However, it wouldn't be a
bad idea to share your new magical powers, with the rest of the world.
Believe it or not, this actually would be the greatest Christmas gift,
ever received by a Christian. So what do you really have to lose, start
wrapping those empty boxes, you have lying around your home and give
them away, to your Christian friends.
Who knows, maybe you could even ask God to show himself and turn the
rest of the world, into his faithful followers.
Maybe, we’ll finally find out that God isn't a man, but a black Indian
woman, with blonde hair, eight arms and doesn't like people who diet.
Maybe, God's even married and has more than one child.
Remember, good Christians use their imagination, while nonbelievers,
focus on the facts supported by evidence. So even if you don't find a
real gift inside your box, pretend like you did and everything will be
all right.
